Public Meeting: Oppose the deadly reopening of schools! Take a stand on the side of the teachers and the working class!
Join our online meeting: Thursday, September 17th at 8PM EST. Register for the meeting using the button below. A catastrophe is unfolding as schools and colleges reopen for in-person learning amid the raging COVID-19 pandemic. Already, thousands of cases have been reported at hundreds of campuses throughout the country, sparking far broader outbreaks.
Opposition is beginning to erupt among students, parents, teachers, and staff, including at the University of Michigan, University of California San Diego, University of Texas Austin, and countless K-12 schools across the country.
This meeting will explain the background and political context of the campaign to reopen schools. What are the social forces driving this insane policy? What is the relationship between the back-to-school campaign and the effort to send workers back to unsafe factories and workplaces? How is it connected to the response of the ruling class to the pandemic? What is the role of the Trump administration and the Democratic Party?
The International Youth and Students for Social Equality (IYSSE) in the United States, the youth and student wing of the Socialist Equality Party, calls on students and young people in middle schools, high schools, and colleges to join our fight to oppose the unsafe reopening of schools.
We encourage all students, youth, and young workers to attend our meeting on Thursday, September 17th at 8PM EST to learn more about our campaign, the socialist response to the pandemic, and how you can get involved in this fight.
